The invention belongs to the field of train control, and provides a train position determination method and system, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining train information, the number of a virtual section where a train estimation front end is located, and the distance from the train estimation front end to the virtual section; according to the train information, the number of the virtual section and the distance from the estimated front end of the train to the virtual section, calculating a block partition position list associated with the train and the starting position and the ending position of each block partition; and determining a train starting position coordinate point and a train ending position coordinate point according to the block partition position list associated with the train and the CTC station equipment display coordinates. According to the method, the number of the trains in the blocked partition and the position relation between the trains can be displayed, high-precision train position display is improved, normalized display on a station yard graph interface is achieved, and convenience and intuition are achieved.
