The invention relates to emission optimized vehicle path and charging. Systems and methods for vehicle path planning are disclosed. The system is configured to identify one or more charging stations based on one or more geographic locations selected for the path plan. The system is also configured to analyze carbon emission data for the one or more charging stations based on utility grid locations associated with the one or more charging stations. The system is further configured to determine a path associated with the one or more geographic locations and select at least one charging station on the path for charging the vehicle based on an analysis of carbon emission data associated with the one or more charging stations. The system is further configured to provide a path and at least one charging station to the user for navigating the vehicle.
