The invention discloses a fault processing system and method for a fuel cell vehicle, relates to the technical field of fuel cell vehicles, and can solve the technical problem of how to carry out fault processing of hydrogen leakage. The system comprises a hydrogen supply system controller and a fuel cell system controller, the hydrogen supply system controller is connected with the fuel cell system controller and used for detecting the hydrogen leakage fault level of the hydrogen supply system and sending the hydrogen leakage fault level to the fuel cell system controller, and if the hydrogen leakage fault level is higher than the operational level and lower than the critical level, the hydrogen supply system controller waits for a valve closing instruction; the fuel cell system controller is used for receiving the hydrogen leakage fault level, controlling the fuel cell system to enter a normal shutdown process, and sending a valve closing instruction to the hydrogen supply system controller after the fuel cell system is shut down; and if the hydrogen leakage fault grade is higher than or equal to the critical grade, the hydrogen supply system controller controls the hydrogen supply system to urgently close a valve, and the fuel cell system executes emergency shutdown.
