The invention relates to a mechanism for reducing parachute opening overload, which comprises a sleeve, an adapter and an elastic piece, part of the adapter extends into the sleeve and is in sliding connection with the sleeve, and one end, opposite to the sleeve, of the adapter is detachably connected with the parachute and a hanging object respectively; the elastic piece is arranged in the sleeve, one end of the elastic piece is connected with the sleeve, and the other end of the elastic piece is connected with the adapter; the problems that an existing mode for reducing parachute opening overload is complex in structure and poor in stability are solved.
