Acquiring total charging capacity data of the battery; calling a charging capacity interval threshold set corresponding to the battery; obtaining a corresponding target charging capacity interval threshold value; calling an initial charging current parameter set corresponding to the charging capacity interval threshold set; obtaining a target initial charging current parameter according to the target charging capacity interval threshold value and the initial charging current parameter set; and adjusting the initial charging current based on the target initial charging current parameter to charge the electric vehicle. According to the method, the initial charging current parameter of the charger is adjusted based on the total charging capacity data of the electric vehicle on the basis of the record of the charging capacity during each charging, so that the initial charging current at the beginning of charging adapts to the total charging capacity of the battery, and the loss of the battery is reduced.
