The invention provides a rear power take-off assembly and a brake control method of the rear power take-off assembly, the rear power take-off assembly comprises an output assembly, an input assembly, a clutch and a brake ring, and the brake ring provides acting force opposite to reset force for a driving mechanism when a friction plate assembly is separated. The brake control method comprises the steps that first pushing force of the driving mechanism on a friction plate assembly of the clutch is controlled, so that the friction plate assembly is separated under the action of reset force of the reset mechanism; receiving an input shaft rotating speed and an output shaft rotating speed of the clutch; calculating a first speed difference according to the input shaft rotation speed and the output shaft rotation speed; and the driving mechanism is controlled according to the speed difference to enable friction plate assemblies of the clutch to tend to be combined or separated. According to the control method, the rotating speed of the clutch is monitored, and then the controller judges the drag force of the load according to the rotating speed difference of the clutch and controls the clutch to be combined or separated according to the drag force, so that the brake ring is protected when the load drag force is large, and the rear power take-off assembly is braked in time when the load drag force is small.
