The method comprises the following steps of: setting a detection working condition I: running the automobile, loading resistance I Fr1, adjusting a nominal test speed I Vr1 and continuous running time I t1; setting a detection working condition II: running the automobile, loading resistance II Fr2, adjusting nominal test speed II Vr2 and continuous running time II t2; based on the first detection working condition and the second detection working condition, respectively acquiring battery information under the first detection working condition and the second detection working condition; and obtaining battery capacity recession based on the battery information under the first detection working condition and the second detection working condition. According to the detection method, the battery capacity recession can be rapidly detected on the basis of not disassembling the automobile power battery, the operation is convenient, and the detection quality and efficiency of the battery capacity recession detection method can be improved.
