The invention provides a vehicle driving mode control method, a vehicle comprises a drive-by-wire chassis domain controller, a fault diagnosis module and a fault processing module, the fault processing module is connected with the drive-by-wire chassis domain controller, and the fault processing module comprises a fault degradation processing module; the vehicle driving mode control method comprises the following steps: acquiring a vehicle operation condition in real time; when the vehicle is in the automatic driving mode, the fault diagnosis module is controlled to carry out fault diagnosis on the vehicle operation condition; if the vehicle operation condition has a fault and meets an automatic driving exit condition, controlling the vehicle to start a manual mode; and controlling the fault processing module to repair the fault. The priority of manual control in the automatic driving mode is guaranteed, traditional drive-by-wire chassis control is matched with intelligent driving control, and the reliability and safety of automatic driving are further guaranteed.
