The invention belongs to the field of oceanographic observation of a solitary wave structure in the ocean, and provides a self-wave-dissipating buoy for observing solitary waves in the ocean, which mainly comprises the following steps: (1) carrying out filterable design on the overall size of the internal solitary wave observation buoy; (2) carrying out split modular design of physical isolation and calculation isolation on a buoy body of the internal solitary wave observation buoy and an observation system; (3) arranging a wave stabilizer for a floating body of the internal solitary wave observation buoy; (4) arranging a wave shock absorber for an observation system of the internal solitary wave observation buoy; and (5) vertical three-level kinematics stability maintenance design of the internal solitary wave observation buoy. The internal solitary wave observation buoy can effectively relieve violent shaking of the surface wave on the buoy and violent oscillation of the buoy body on an observation instrument, accurate forecasting of internal solitary waves is achieved, and effective guarantee is provided for underwater activities and ocean engineering safety.
