The purpose of the present invention is to provide a passenger conveyor capable of performing appropriate sterilization on a moving handrail operating at different speeds. In the passenger conveying equipment (100), a moving handrail speed control part (113) switches the moving speed of the moving handrail between a first speed (speed during rated speed operation) and a second speed (speed during low speed operation) which is lower than the first speed and larger than zero. The ultraviolet irradiation control unit (113) controls the sterilization unit (10) (ultraviolet light emitting units (11Aa, 11Ba)) such that the ultraviolet light emission amount per unit time of the sterilization unit (10) (ultraviolet light emitting units (11Aa, 11Ba)) at the first speed becomes greater than the ultraviolet light emission amount per unit time of the sterilization unit (10) (ultraviolet light emitting units (11Aa, 11Ba)) at the second speed.
