The invention discloses a display device, a vehicle and an imaging method for outputting single polarization image light, and relates to the field of optics. The optical waveguide unit in the display device further comprises an output element with single polarization response and a polarization conversion element. The polarization conversion element is positioned in the first main plane, the second main plane or the waveguide substrate and is used for converting second polarization component light different from the first polarization component light in the conduction light into first polarization component light; the output element is used for expanding the first polarization component light of the conduction light and coupling and outputting the light to form first output light. In the display device, through the output element with single polarization response and the polarization conversion element, the polarization conversion element converts the second polarization component light which cannot be coupled and output by the output element into the first polarization component light which can be coupled and output, so that coupling output of all image light rays is realized, and the utilization efficiency of light energy is improved; and the image brightness of the display system is improved.
本申请公开了一种显示装置、交通工具、输出单一偏振图像光的成像方法,涉及光学领域。该显示装置中的光波导单元还包括:具有单一偏振响应的输出元件、偏振转换元件;偏振转换元件位于第一主平面、第二主平面或波导基板内,用于将传导光中不同于第一偏振分量光的第二偏振分量光转换为第一偏振分量光;输出元件用于将传导光的第一偏振分量光扩束并耦合输出,形成第一输出光。该显示装置中,通过具有单一偏振响应的输出元件和偏振转换元件,偏振转换元件将无法被输出元件耦合输出的第二偏振分量光转换成可被耦合输出的第一偏振分量光,实现所有图像光线的耦合输出,提高光能量利用效率,进而提高显示系统的图像亮度。
