The invention relates to the technical field of traffic control, in particular to a vehicle-road cooperative traffic control system and method.The vehicle-road cooperative traffic control system comprises three-color traffic lights, a traffic light control subsystem, a vision subsystem and a vehicle control subsystem, firstly, the working condition of the three-color traffic lights is controlled through the traffic light control subsystem, and then the working condition of the three-color traffic lights is controlled through the vision subsystem; the traffic lights in red light, yellow light and green light emitted by the three-color traffic lights are used for controlling the light specified by the subsystem to command whether the automobiles on the passing road section pass or not; when the three-color traffic light emits red light, a deceleration light signal is transmitted through the traffic light control subsystem; the vision subsystem and the vehicle control subsystem are both installed on an automobile, and when the automobile drives into the transmission range of the deceleration light signal, the vision subsystem receives the deceleration light signal and triggers the vehicle control subsystem; and finally, forbidding an acceleration module corresponding to the automobile through the automobile control subsystem, and adjusting the current speed of the automobile to the target deceleration speed.
