The invention provides a method for polling a pavement pit based on an unmanned aerial vehicle and application thereof, and the method comprises the following steps: S00, dynamically calculating the actual area of a shot pavement of each pixel point in each shot picture according to the real-time height of the unmanned aerial vehicle, so as to obtain calibration data; s10, carrying out shooting detection on the road surface through the unmanned aerial vehicle, identifying a pit hole disease and marking the pit hole disease as a target pit hole; s20, tracking the target pit, and flying to the position above the target pit for shooting to obtain a pit picture; s30, calculating the actual area of the target pit; s40, generating a minimum pit recognition frame at the periphery of the pit feature, and planning a flight path of the unmanned aerial vehicle according to the pit recognition frame; s50, calculating the depth of the target pit; and S60, based on the depth and the actual area of the target pit, calculating and outputting road surface technical condition data. The method has the advantages of low detection cost and good detection effect.
