The climbing system for the tower crane comprises a climbing frame and an electric control box, the electric control box is arranged on the climbing frame and used for being in communication connection with a control device in a cab of the tower crane so that the tower crane can be controlled to work, and the control right of the tower crane can be moved to the electric control box of the climbing frame; by means of the electric control box on the climbing frame, an operator on the climbing frame platform can control the tower crane to work by operating the electric control box on the climbing frame, so that operation of a tower crane driver is omitted, the number of workers during section adding/reducing operation of the tower crane is reduced, and the purposes of improving the section adding/reducing operation efficiency of the tower crane and reducing the high-altitude operation risk and the labor intensity are achieved.
