The invention relates to the field of railway vehicle vibration reduction parts, in particular to a hourglass spring for secondary vibration reduction, which comprises a rubber body, a support plate and a mounting plate, and the rubber body is provided with empty vibration reduction areas extending to the mounting plate on two sides of the support plate; the rubber body comprises side bearing areas located on the two sides of the empty vibration reduction area and a middle bearing area located on the inner side of the empty vibration reduction area. The outer ends of the side bearing areas are connected with the mounting plate, and the middle bearing areas are located on the inner sides of the side bearing areas and connected with the supporting plate. A backstop piece fixed on the mounting plate is arranged in the empty vibration reduction area, the backstop piece comprises a connecting plate and a rubber backstop block, a buffer gap I and a buffer gap II are respectively arranged between the rubber backstop block and the side bearing area as well as between the rubber backstop block and the middle bearing area, and when a load is borne, the rubber backstop block gradually gets close to the rubber body and is in contact with the rubber body to form a backstop. When the hourglass spring fails, the rubber stop block is used for stopping and continuously supporting a vehicle body to continuously run.
