The invention provides a vehicle control device. A vehicle control apparatus includes a moving object detection unit, a boundary detection unit, and a control unit. The moving object detection unit is used for detecting a moving object in the vicinity of the vehicle. The boundary detection unit is configured to detect a boundary between a lane on which a host vehicle travels and a road adjacent to the lane and outside the lane. When the moving object detection unit detects that a moving object exists on the road, the control unit is used for controlling the boundary detection unit. At least one of the following control modes is executed: offset control for controlling the host vehicle to move away from the boundary in the vehicle width direction, deceleration control for controlling the host vehicle to decelerate, and notification control for controlling the host vehicle to notify. The control unit switches the control parameters of the control mode in accordance with the boundary height of the boundary between the host vehicle and the moving object in the vehicle width direction.
