The invention discloses a ship stern structure without a cooling water tank. The ship stern structure comprises a stern shaft and a stern shaft bearing. The front end of the tail shaft penetrates through the front end wall of the ship tail structure; only one screw shaft bearing is arranged, and the rear end of the screw shaft is sleeved with the screw shaft bearing; a stern tube structural member is not arranged on the stern shaft; no cooling water tank is arranged in the ship stern structure; a front sealing piece is arranged between the front end part of the tail shaft bearing and the tail shaft; a manhole for people to pass through is formed in the front end wall of the ship stern structure, and a footpath for people to pass through is arranged in the ship stern structure. The stern shaft can operate in a larger space outside a stern tube, the structural arrangement of the stern is simplified, the installation and maintenance work of the stern shaft and accessories of the stern shaft is easier, and the building and using cost of a ship is reduced.
