The invention relates to the technical field of information detection, in particular to a method and system for detecting three-dimensional information of a running train in a complex environment, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining three-way video information, three-way point cloud data and top point cloud data of a freight train when the freight train passes; decomposing the three paths of video information into three paths of image information, and extracting three paths of optimal frame pictures from the three paths of image information; distortion correction is carried out on the three paths of optimal frame pictures, same-proportion processing is carried out on the three paths of optimal frame pictures after distortion correction, and three paths of pictures with the same proportion are obtained; performing train contour positioning according to the top point cloud data to obtain train contour information; performing equal-proportion scaling reduction on the three-way point cloud data by using train contour information to obtain equal-proportion point cloud data; and three paths of pictures with the same proportion and point cloud data with the same proportion are jointly calibrated and fused to obtain a three-dimensional point cloud live-action picture, so that vehicle multi-dimensional information meeting requirements can be conveniently collected in various complex environments.
