The invention relates to an electric vehicle charging apparatus for charging an electric vehicle, comprising an electric vehicle supply equipment EVSE, where the EVSE comprises a power module configured to provide electrical energy to charge the electric vehicle, an output configured to connect the power module to the electric vehicle to charge the electric vehicle, and a direct current (DC) bus, the electric vehicle power supply equipment comprises a power supply module and an output end, and a direct current (DC) bus arranged between the power supply module and the output end and connected to the power supply module and the output end and configured for transmitting electric energy from the power supply module to the output end, and the electric vehicle power supply equipment comprises a pre-charging module configured for pre-charging the output end, the pre-charge module is separate from the power module and electrically connected to the DC bus.
