The invention provides a safety sudden stop device for an energy storage charging pile. The device comprises an emergency stop switch; a relay having a coil and a contact; a battery management unit (BMS) electrically connected to a first side contact of the relay; the energy management unit EMS is electrically connected with the low side of the coil of the relay and the battery management unit BMS; the safety relay is electrically connected with the emergency stop switch, a second side contact of the relay relay, a high side of a coil of the relay relay and an energy management unit EMS, and the emergency stop switch, the relay relay, the safety relay and the energy management unit EMS are in linkage control. When the emergency stop switch is turned off or turned on, the battery management unit BMS is powered off or not powered off. According to the scheme, the problem that in the prior art, the design of an emergency stop switch in a traditional alternating-current and direct-current charging pile has safety risks is solved.
