The invention relates to collecting feedback from an occupant of an autonomous vehicle. For example, it may be determined that a triggering environment for triggering a feedback request has been satisfied. The triggering environment may include a driving event, the presence of other road users, or a trip state. Display requirements and data collection parameters of the feedback request are identified based on the determination. The display requirement defines when to display the feedback request, and the data collection parameter identifies information that the feedback request is to collect. Based on the display requirements and the data collection parameters, a feedback request is provided for display. In response, feedback from an occupant of the autonomous vehicle is received and stored for subsequent use.
