The present invention relates to a parking collision avoidance system and a control method thereof, the parking collision avoidance system including a sensing device configured to detect an obstacle around a vehicle; and a control device that obtains type information of the obstacle and an expected collision time point with the obstacle based on the sensing data received from the sensing device, determines a braking start time point of the braking device based on the expected collision time point, and adjusts the braking start time point based on the type information.
