The invention discloses a hydraulic actuator fault monitoring method for an aircraft flight control system. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, creating fault model classification; creating an actuator state equation expression under a normal working condition; then creating an actuator state equation expression in a fault state; performing hydraulic actuator fault detection by using an equivalent space method; fault estimation is carried out on the hydraulic actuator; and finally, monitoring the fault of the hydraulic actuator according to a fault estimation result. The fault of the hydraulic actuator can be identified, and the health state of the hydraulic actuator can be monitored, so that the possible fault opportunity and the residual life of the aircraft can be accurately predicted, and the aircraft can be ensured to fly as safely and reliably as possible.
