A disclosed water sample collection system for water quality detection comprises a carrier and a sampling barrel, the sampling barrel is arranged on the carrier, the carrier comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle and a floating platform, the sampling barrel is arranged on the floating platform, the floating platform is provided with a vertical driving device, and the vertical driving device is connected with the unmanned aerial vehicle. The vertical driving device drives the sampling barrel to downwards extend out of the bottom of the floating platform; the sampling barrel comprises a sampling cavity, the sampling cavity is of a barrel-shaped structure with an upper opening and a lower opening, a layering mechanism is arranged on one side of the sampling cavity, and the sampling cavity can be divided into a plurality of vertically-arranged separation cavities through the action of the layering mechanism. The device can move to the middle of a water body for layered collection of water samples; the device is not influenced by algae in a water body, and can travel to any water area for collection; according to the floating platform, a deeper water sample can be collected on the premise that the overall height is not affected, so that the influence of wind blowing is reduced, the stability of the floating platform is kept, and the sampling precision is higher.
