The invention relates to a drive device for a vehicle. The present invention suppresses overheating of a device such as a rotating electric machine in a rotating electric machine driving mode. When the drive mode is a rotating electric machine drive mode and the vehicle is in an extremely low speed state or a stopped state at or below a predetermined vehicle speed, if it is determined that a drive request amount requested by the vehicle is greater than a predetermined request amount, the direct clutch is brought into an engaged state, and the first power transmission path is brought into a power transmissible state. Since power is output from the first power source to the first output shaft, the torque output by the rotating electric machine can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to suppress overheating of a device such as a rotating electric machine in a rotating electric machine driving mode. In addition, since the direct clutch is set to the engaged state, the loss of power in the fluid-type transmission device can be suppressed.
