A method of validating a flight plan of an aircraft includes receiving aeronautical data, determining a flight plan based on the aeronautical data, determining a set of flight parameters of the flight plan, receiving topographic data, and performing a security validation of the flight plan, where the security validation includes comparing the set of flight parameters to the topographic data, based on the comparison, it is determined whether the flight plan satisfies a predetermined flight criterion, and if it is determined that the flight plan does not satisfy the predetermined flight criterion, a first notification indicative of the determination is displayed.
