The invention discloses a crane operation monitoring method and system based on digital twinning, according to the scheme, visual background monitoring is ingeniously constructed through a digital twinning technology to provide remote monitoring service for field work of a gantry crane, and meanwhile, the remote monitoring service is provided for field work of the gantry crane. An operation execution log of the gantry crane is recorded for judging the health degree problem of equipment (namely, indirect judgment is performed through instruction response sensitivity or a driving effect), in addition, whether foreign matter disturbs advancing of the gantry crane or not is judged through an image of a preset range of a crane track, and furthermore, the operation execution log of the gantry crane is recorded. The vibration problem of the gantry crane is indirectly monitored by combining the difference of the image frames in the image, and a good technical monitoring strategy is provided for the safe work of the gantry crane.
