The invention relates to an elevator system capable of compensating the weight of a traveling cable. The lift car frame comprises an upper beam, a left side beam, a lower beam and a right side beam, the middle of the upper beam is used for being connected with a traction rope, and the lower beam is used for bearing a lift car; the bottom end of the hoisting rope is connected to an upper beam of the lift car frame; the traveling cable is hung at the first end of the upper beam or the first end of the lower beam, and the traveling cable generates a first torque to the gravity center of the lift car frame; the elevator system further comprises a moment balancing device used for generating a second moment to the gravity center of the car frame, and the second moment and the first moment are basically equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. The weight of the traveling cable is balanced by asymmetrically arranging the compensation rope and/or eccentrically arranging the hoisting rope suspension point, so that the unbalance loading moment generated by the weight of the traveling cable on the lift car frame is mostly or even completely eliminated, the influence on the rolling guide shoe is eliminated, no device is additionally arranged, the cost is low, and the effect is remarkable.
