The invention discloses an active equalization control circuit and method for a power battery pack, and the circuit comprises an energy storage sub-circuit which comprises a plurality of battery modules connected in series; the switching sub-circuit is connected with the energy storage sub-circuit and is configured to control at least one battery module to be switched out of or connected into the energy storage sub-circuit; and the equalization sub-circuit is used for carrying out voltage equalization on the remaining battery modules according to the average electric quantity of each battery module in the energy storage sub-circuit before equalization when the at least one battery module is switched out of the energy storage sub-circuit under the control of the switching sub-circuit. The active equalization control circuit disclosed by the invention can improve the equalization efficiency and keep the load voltage of the power battery pack relatively stable during the equalization period.
