The invention provides a thermal management system and method for a hydrogen fuel cell automobile. The thermal management system for the hydrogen fuel cell automobile comprises an air conditioner refrigeration subsystem, an electric pile heat dissipation subsystem, a first pipeline, a second pipeline and a thermal peak regulator. The galvanic pile heat dissipation subsystem comprises a vehicle cabin heat dissipation device; the first pipeline and the second pipeline penetrate through the thermal peak regulator, and the thermal peak regulator is filled with a heat storage material; the thermal peak regulator is connected in parallel with a flowing loop of a refrigerant of the air conditioner refrigeration subsystem through a first pipeline; and the thermal peak regulator is connected in parallel with a cooling liquid flowing loop of the electric pile heat dissipation subsystem through a second pipeline. The problem that in the prior art, the thermal management capacity of a thermal management system of a hydrogen fuel cell automobile is insufficient is solved.
