Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method, apparatus and computer program for training a machine learning model and for generating training data for such training, in particular to training of a machine learning model to determine a position of a key device relative to a vehicle. The method for training a machine learning model includes training a machine learning model based on data representative of at least two different vehicle environments. The machine learning model is trained to determine a position of the key device relative to the vehicle based on data of transit time distance measurements of a distance between the key device and the vehicle.
