A walking mechanism of a tower crane comprises a plurality of groups of walking wheel assemblies which are arranged at the bottom of a base, matched with a track and walk on the track; the multiple sets of driving assemblies drive the multiple sets of walking wheel assemblies to walk on the track. The load balance detection assembly is mounted on each walking wheel and is used for detecting the working state and the abrasion degree of each walking wheel; and the balance weight adjusting assembly comprises a balance weight piece and a supporting adjusting piece, and the supporting adjusting piece adjusts the position and/or distribution of the balance weight piece according to the working state and the abrasion degree, detected by the load balance detection assembly, of the walking wheel. Each walking wheel is provided with a load balance detection assembly, large unbalance loading can be corrected in time by monitoring the working state of the walking wheel, and after the walking wheel is used for a period of time, pressure load distribution distributed on each walking wheel can be improved through a balance weight adjusting assembly according to the abrasion difference of different walking wheels; the abrasion difference of walking wheels is reduced, the balance stability of the tower crane is improved, and the maintenance frequency is reduced.
