The invention provides a method for constructing a marine floating platform. The method comprises a shell composed of a plurality of modules reinforced by a plurality of tensile elements. The housing includes an interior space, a length, a width, and at least one bulkhead disposed over the width along the length of the housing within the housing to reinforce the housing. In one embodiment, the housing further includes a ridge disposed substantially at a right angle to the at least one bulkhead to further reinforce the housing.
