The invention provides a narrow lane vehicle avoidance method based on automatic driving. The narrow lane vehicle avoidance method comprises the steps that an automatic driving system obtains the road width and recognizes the type of a road section in front; the vehicle networking system obtains position information of surrounding vehicles; the vehicle networking system judges whether there is a head-on driving vehicle or not. The method specifically comprises the following steps: judging whether the head-on driving vehicles meet in a narrow road or not through GPS vehicle positioning; if there is a head-on driving vehicle, comparing the vehicle body sizes of the head-on driving vehicle and the head-on driving vehicle with the road width, and judging whether the vehicles can pass simultaneously; making an avoidance strategy of the vehicle and the head-on vehicle, wherein the avoidance strategy comprises a head-on vehicle first-pass strategy and a vehicle first-pass strategy; and judging a traffic collision risk and a violation risk according to an avoidance strategy analysis result, and performing avoidance.
