The invention discloses an identification and detection system for a foreign matter of a power grid overhead line, relates to the technical field of power transmission line detection, and solves the technical problem that the foreign matter of the power grid overhead line cannot be automatically identified and detected because whether the foreign matter exists in the overhead line cannot be efficiently determined in the prior art. According to the method, the line image data and the line strain data in the basic state data are independently or jointly analyzed, the foreign matter information is determined, and then early warning processing is carried out according to the foreign matter information; whether foreign matters exist in the overhead line of the power grid can be judged by automatically processing data, and a data basis is provided for identification and detection of the foreign matters; when the line image data and the line strain data are subjected to conjoint analysis, the position of the foreign matter is analyzed through the line strain data, and then the foreign matter information is analyzed and determined in combination with the corresponding line image data; whether the foreign matter exists or not is determined through a low-cost scheme, then fine recognition is performed, and the foreign matter recognition and detection cost can be effectively reduced.
