The invention relates to a vehicle positioning system and method and a roadside device, and the vehicle positioning system comprises a roadside unit which further comprises a roadside sensor part which detects a vehicle entering a detection range; a roadside calculation unit that calculates position information of the detected vehicle; a roadside positioning unit that calculates high-precision absolute position information of the detected vehicle on the basis of the high-precision position information of the roadside sensor unit and the detected position information of the vehicle; the roadside communication part broadcasts broadcast information containing the detected high-precision absolute position information of the vehicle, the system further comprises a vehicle-mounted unit, and the vehicle-mounted unit further comprises a vehicle-mounted positioning part which records the position information of the vehicle through a vehicle-mounted sensor; an in-vehicle communication unit that receives broadcast information; and a vehicle-mounted calculation unit that acquires the high-precision absolute position information of the own vehicle from the received broadcast information and replaces the position information of the own vehicle with the high-precision absolute position information of the own vehicle.
