The invention relates to a traditional rail car traction system, in particular to a dual-power alternating-current rail car traction control system which comprises two electric transmission systems composed of diesel engines, permanent magnet generators, traction converters and traction motors, and each traction converter comprises a rectifying unit, a traction inversion unit, an auxiliary inversion unit and a braking unit. After the diesel engine is started, the permanent magnet generator is dragged to operate, three-phase power generated by the permanent magnet generator supplies power to the traction converter, the traction converter provides three-phase variable-frequency variable-voltage alternating current for the traction motor, the traction inversion unit drags the traction motor, and the traction motor drives the load motor to operate. An alternating current-direct current-alternating current transmission system is adopted, the alternating current traction motor has the advantages of being simple in structure, small in size, reliable in operation and the like, meanwhile, excellent starting performance is achieved, and high-power and high-speed operation can be achieved. The dual-power alternating-current rail car traction system has certain leading performance in the future technical market, and the development of the rail car technology and the market can be effectively promoted.
