The distal airbag device has an airbag configured to be fixed in a folded state within a seat having a headrest. The airbag has an airbag body, an airbag protrusion, and a tie. The airbag main body portion corresponds to a portion from a chest to a head of an occupant when the airbag is deployed and inflated. The airbag projecting portion projects forward from a front end portion of an upper portion of the airbag main body portion when the airbag is deployed and inflated. The tying belt connects the front end part of the air bag protruding part and the occupant side part of the air bag main body part when the air bag is unfolded and inflated. The length of the lacing is shorter than the length between the lacing and the connecting part of the front and rear end parts of the lacing of the airbag along the occupant-side surface of the airbag. The rear end portion of the tying belt is located at a position closer to the rear than a contact surface configured to be in contact with the head of the occupant of the headrest.
