The invention relates to a bi-directional charging system for an electric vehicle, comprising: a bi-directional terminal (101) connected to an electrical network (102); a cable for connection to the electric vehicle (103); a control panel (104) which is accessible from the terminal; and means for communicating (107) with the control system of the power grid, the vehicle comprising a bi-directional charger (105) allowing electrical energy to be transferred from the terminal to a battery (106) of the vehicle and vice versa, in which a user of the vehicle can specify a minimum charge level of the battery (106) by means of the terminal of the control panel.
