The embodiment of the invention discloses a control method and system for preventing an accelerator from being stepped on mistakenly, and relates to the vehicle control technology, the method comprises the steps that the stepping speed of an accelerator pedal, the duration for the accelerator pedal to be stepped on to the bottom and the ratio of the stepping pressure of the accelerator pedal to the pressure borne by a driving seat are detected; if the speed exceeds a speed threshold value, and/or the duration exceeds a duration threshold value, and/or the ratio exceeds a ratio threshold value, the current braking distance of the vehicle is determined; detecting the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle in the future driving direction; and if the current braking distance is larger than the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle, braking control is conducted on the vehicle. According to the embodiment of the invention, the accuracy and flexibility of mistaken stepping judgment can be improved, and the purpose of avoiding or reducing the damage or secondary damage of vehicles and personnel to a certain extent is achieved.
