The present disclosure provides a feed-forward torque limit for a motorized powertrain. Methods and systems are provided for limiting a requested wheel torque during start-up of a vehicle having an electrically powered powertrain. In one example, a method may include, in response to a currently available discharge power being less than or equal to a threshold discharge power, operating a vehicle when a requested wheel torque is at a feed-forward torque limit, the feed-forward torque limit based on the discharge power and a threshold vehicle speed. In this manner, a large offset of wheel torque at the time of vehicle starting may be avoided, thereby reducing noise, vibration and roughness of the motorized powertrain.
