The invention relates to a defrosting air opening mechanism and a control method thereof, and relates to the technical field of vehicle parts, and the defrosting air opening mechanism comprises a defrosting air opening frame and a defrosting air opening piece arranged on the defrosting air opening frame in a sliding mode; the telescopic corrugated air pipe is communicated with the defrosting air opening piece; the two ends of the defrosting air opening piece are connected with the inner walls of the two ends of the defrosting air opening frame through the telescopic cover plates. The telescopic cover plate is configured to stretch out and draw back along with sliding of the defrosting air opening piece so that the area, except the defrosting air opening piece, on the defrosting air opening frame can be covered. By means of the characteristics of the sliding structure, the defrosting air outlet direction can be changed according to needs on the premise that the good sealing performance of the opening separating mechanism is guaranteed, and different defrosting requirements are met.
