A method for supporting an evaluation of an unpredictable driving scenario of a host vehicle comprises: continuously and/or intermittently storing timestamped sensor data, including a geographic location and surroundings of the host vehicle; detecting that the host vehicle is involved in an unpredictable driving scene at the scene moment; deriving, from the timestamped sensor data, a subset of the sensor data relating to a plurality of individual timestamps before and possibly at and/or after the scene time; identifying entities provided with one or more surroundings detection sensors, respectively present in subsets associated with at least two respective individual timestamps; selecting, from the identified entities, at least a first entity that meets a selection criterion; request data is transmitted to the at least first selected entity that prompts the at least first selected entity to provide the stored timestamped sensor data of its surroundings.
