The invention relates to a reheating method (500) for operating a refrigeration device (10) for a motor vehicle having a heat pump function, the refrigeration device (10) comprising: a refrigerant compressor (12) which is or can be connected to a main line (14) and a secondary line (16); an external heat exchanger (18) arranged in the main line (14); an evaporator (22) arranged in the main line (14); a heating regulator (26) arranged in the secondary line (16); at least one reheating expansion valve (AE4) arranged in the secondary line (16) between the heating regulator (26) and the external heat exchanger (18). In this case, the reheating method comprises the following steps: determining (S503) a thermal difference value (Wdiff) by comparing a thermal output actual value (Wist) at the heating controller (26) with a thermal output target value (Wsoll); when the thermal difference value (Wdiff) is greater than 0 and less than the thermal difference threshold value (Wds), at least one operating setting of the refrigeration device (10) is adjusted (S507) such that the load consumption in the refrigeration device (10) is increased. The invention also relates to a refrigeration device for carrying out the reheating method and to a motor vehicle having such a refrigeration device.
