The invention relates to a device (1) for actuating a locking device of an automatic intermediate buffer coupling of a rail vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle, the device (1) has an actuating arm (2) which is pivotably hinged to a housing (4) of the intermediate buffer coupling about a first axis of rotation (3), and an actuating shaft (6) which is rotatably mounted relative to the housing (4) of the intermediate buffer coupling about a second axis of rotation (5) extending parallel to the first axis of rotation (3), the operating shaft is effectively connected or can be effectively connected to a locking device of an intermediate buffer coupling. In addition, a lever mechanism is used for transmitting a torque to the actuating shaft (6), wherein the torque is generated when the actuating arm (2) is actuated.
