The invention provides a charge and discharge management system for a battery system. The system is applied to an unmanned vehicle or an unmanned vehicle and comprises the steps that before a battery system is charged or discharged, a control unit activates a battery management unit of each battery pack in the battery system through a circuit, and then the battery management unit sends a battery serial number of each battery pack to the control unit; the control unit matches the battery serial numbers of the battery packs according to the battery serial numbers of the battery packs and a preset matching rule, and when the battery serial numbers of the battery packs connected in series are successfully matched, the battery serial numbers of the battery packs are matched; and the control unit controls the relays of the battery packs which are connected in series in the same battery system to be closed and controls the battery packs which are connected in series in the same battery system to be charged or discharged at the same time. The consistency of the single batteries is ensured, the capacity fading speed of the battery system is reduced, and the service life of the battery system is prolonged.
