The invention relates to a brake rotor for a bicycle. The brake rotor includes: a carrier to be coupled to a hub of the bicycle; and a brake track having a brake surface to be engaged by a brake pad, the brake track being disposed radially outward of the carrier, the brake track having a first thickness and the carrier having a second thickness greater than the first thickness, the brake rotor having an axis of rotation defining a coordinate reference, the brake rail is coupled to the bracket such that the brake rail is axially movable relative to the bracket while being radially and circumferentially constrained relative to the bracket.
