The invention provides an end line shunting operation anti-collision system and method. The end line shunting operation anti-collision system comprises a shunting unit handheld station, a plurality of sensors and a protection device host. The plurality of sensors are used for sending detection signals to the protection device host when the train passes through the detection position; the shunting unit handheld station is used for broadcasting a first shunting instruction when the train passes through the detection position; the protection device host is used for sending a second shunting instruction to the mechanical controller under the condition that the detection signal sent by the sensor is received and it is determined that the shunting unit handheld station does not send the first shunting instruction. According to the end line shunting operation anti-collision system and method, the safety of end line operation is improved, and the end line shunting operation anti-collision system and method can be suitable for a multi-end line operation scene.
