The invention relates to a method for controlling an electronically slip-adjustable power-assisted brake system (10), in particular for a motor vehicle, and to an electronically slip-adjustable power-assisted brake system (10) controlled according to the method. Known booster brake equipment (10) comprises an actuating device (14) which is acted upon by a muscle force, a master brake cylinder (12) which is coupled to the actuating device (14), a brake circuit (30a, b), wheel brakes (64a-d) which are connected thereto, and a brake pressure generator (50) which can be actuated by a booster force. The brake pressure generator (50) and the master brake cylinder (12) can be brought into contact with the brake circuits (30a, b) in parallel with respect to each other. Furthermore, a pressure generator control valve (62a, b) for controlling a first pressure medium connection between the brake pressure generator (50) and the brake circuit (30a, b) and a brake circuit control valve (32a, b) for controlling a second pressure medium connection between the brake circuit (30a, b) and the master brake cylinder (12) are provided. The booster brake system (10) can be operated in an operating state, during which the pressure generator control valve (62a, b) assumes a penetration position, while the brake pressure does not assume a dominant position in the brake circuit (30a, b) and the brake pressure build-up is not carried out. It is suggested that the brake circuit control valve (32a, b) is electrically controlled by an electronic control unit (28) of the booster brake system (10) during the operating state in such a way that the brake circuit control valve (32a, b) assumes the penetration position.
