The invention discloses a displacement detection method for a floating wind turbine generator, which comprises the following steps of: installing sonar emitters at the center of a floating foundation platform and each buoy of the floating wind turbine generator, lowering an iron chain, tying a weight on the iron chain, installing a sonar receiver on the weight, arranging a chain stopper at the lowering front end of the iron chain, and controlling the lowering of the iron chain through the chain stopper. Through the measured vertical distance between the sonar transmitter and the corresponding sonar receiver and the offset distance after typhoon, the horizontal displacement of all the buoys and the floating type foundation platform after typhoon can be calculated, and the real displacement of all the anchors can be truly reflected. Therefore, the safety of the floating type wind turbine generator is accurately evaluated. The method has the advantages of simplicity and reliability in operation, high feasibility, high precision and the like.
